David Taft
Principal Geoscientist
With over 15 years of experience across the consulting and mining sectors, David Taft brings deep geoscientific expertise and a pragmatic approach to complex environmental challenges. At Resource Innovations, David has expanded his focus to include waste management and project delivery—applying his technical acumen to the design, development, and closure of landfill infrastructure.
David specialises in hydrogeological and hydrological investigations, using both conceptual and numerical modelling to inform the design of new landfills, extensions, and rehabilitation strategies. His field experience is extensive, encompassing groundwater sampling, bore installation (monitoring, piezometers, and production), permeability testing, and bore performance assessments.
He also has hands-on expertise in the installation and operation of leachate and landfill gas extraction systems, ensuring safe and efficient management of these critical facilities. Drawing on a rigorous safety mindset honed in the mining industry, David leads field programs with precision, care, and a strong commitment to operational excellence
